Who these terms are with.
This website is operated by Crest Electrical Contractors, an electrical contractor based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. Using the site means accepting what follows. If you do not accept it, please do not use the site.
The website is information, not a quotation.
Everything here describes the work we do and how we do it. None of it is an offer capable of acceptance, and nothing on this site forms a contract on its own. A price only becomes a quotation when we give it to you directly, in writing, for your specific job. That written quotation and anything attached to it is the agreement between us, and it takes precedence over anything said on this website.
We try to keep it accurate.
Standards, regulations and our own services change. We keep the site current as best we can, but we do not warrant that every page is complete and up to date at the moment you read it. Where a page describes a regulation or a requirement, treat it as a plain-English summary written to be useful, not as legal or technical advice for your particular situation. Ask us about your actual job and you will get a specific answer.
Advice articles.
The advice section is written to help people understand electrical work before they commission it. It is general guidance. It is not a substitute for an inspection, a design or a condition report on your own installation, and it should not be relied on as the basis for carrying out electrical work yourself. Work on a fixed installation is subject to Building Regulations, and a good deal of it is notifiable.
Accreditations and insurance.
Where the site states that we are an NICEIC Approved Contractor, or that we carry public and employers' liability insurance, those statements are accurate at the date shown at the top of this page. Registration and cover are matters of record and we are happy to evidence both on request before you engage us.
Project references.
Projects named on this site are real work carried out by our team. They are described to show the type and scale of what we do. They are not a promise that your project will be identical in scope, programme or outcome.
What belongs to whom.
The design, text, photographs and logos on this site belong to Crest Electrical Contractors or are used with permission. You are welcome to read, print and share pages for your own use, and to link to us. Copying the content to reuse commercially, in particular republishing the text or reusing our photographs, needs our permission first.
Links out.
Where we link to another organisation, such as a certification body or the Information Commissioner's Office, we do it because it is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what is on them.
Liability.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Beyond that, and to the extent the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general information on this website. Liability for work we actually carry out is dealt with in the contract for that work, not here.

Governing law.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
