While you wait: stay safe.

  • Smell burning, see smoke or scorching? If you can reach it safely and it is dry, switch off the main switch on your consumer unit. If there is fire, get out and call 999.
  • Water coming through a light or near sockets? Do not touch anything wet. Switch off at the main switch only if you can reach it without touching water.
  • Board keeps tripping? Unplug everything on that circuit before trying again. Do not hold the switch up or tape it.
  • Whole street off as well? That is a power cut, not a fault in your home. Call 105, the free power cut number.

What we get called out for.

If it is electrical, in your home, and it cannot wait, call us. These are the calls we take most.

No power to part of the house

Sockets, lights or a whole floor gone dead, with or without a trip at the board.

A board that will not reset

An RCD or breaker that trips straight back off every time you push it up.

Burning smell or scorch marks

A hot socket, a brown mark round a plug or switch, or a smell you cannot place.

Sparking, crackling or buzzing

From a socket, switch, light fitting or the consumer unit itself.

Water near the electrics

A leak coming through a ceiling light or running near sockets or the board.

Damage after DIY

A cable drilled or nailed through, or something disturbed while work was being done.

Not urgent? See fault finding & repairs or our guide on why a fuse board keeps tripping.

How an emergency call out works.

Call or WhatsApp

Tell us what happened. A photo of the board or the problem helps us bring the right parts.

An honest arrival time

We tell you when we can be there and how the visit is charged, before anyone sets off.

Made safe first

We find the fault and make the installation safe, then explain what went wrong in plain English.

Fixed and tested

Most faults are fixed on the spot. Anything more is priced and agreed before it is done, and tested before we leave.

Emergency electrician near you.

We cover homes across Milton Keynes, Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding towns in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Asked on the phone.

Is my problem an emergency?

If there is a burning smell, smoke, sparking, scorching, water getting into electrics, or you have no power and cannot restore it safely, treat it as urgent and call. If you are not sure, ring us and describe it. We will tell you straight whether it needs someone today or can wait for a booked visit.

The whole street has lost power. Can you help?

A power cut affecting your neighbours as well is a network fault, not a fault in your home, and only the network operator can fix it. Call 105, the free national power cut number, or check your network operator’s website for updates. If only your home is off, call us.

When are your phones answered?

Phones answered 24 hours Monday to Friday, and 7am to 6pm at weekends. Outside those hours, send a WhatsApp and we will pick it up first thing.

How quickly can you get to me?

We tell you honestly when we can be there when you call, rather than promising a time we cannot keep. If it sounds dangerous, we will talk you through making it safe while you wait.

How is an emergency call out charged?

We explain how the visit is charged on the phone before anyone sets off. Once the fault is found and made safe, any further work is priced and agreed with you before it is done. No surprises on the invoice.

Will it be fixed on the first visit?

Most common faults are, because the van carries the common parts. If something has to be ordered, we make the installation safe first and come back to finish the job.

I am a landlord. Can you deal with my tenant directly?

Yes. Give us the tenant’s details and we will arrange access with them, fix the fault and send you the paperwork for your records.
