What we do with the details you send us, in plain English. The short version: we use them to answer your enquiry and quote your job, and nothing else.

Last updated: 25 August 2026

Who we are.

Crest Electrical Contractors is an electrical contractor based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. For anything you send us through this website or by phone, WhatsApp or email, we are the data controller. You can reach us at callum@crestelectrical.uk or 07864 271257.

What this website collects, and what it does not.

This is worth being precise about, because it is unusual. The quote form on this site does not send anything to us on its own, and it does not store anything. When you fill it in and press WhatsApp or Email, your browser assembles what you typed into a message and hands it to WhatsApp or to your own email programme. You then choose whether to send it. Nothing is written to a database, and until you press send in that app, we have not received anything.

The practical effect is that we only ever hold what you actively chose to send us, in the same place any other message from you would sit: our WhatsApp, our email inbox, or our phone.

What we hold when you do get in touch.

  • Your name, so we know who we are talking to.
  • Your phone number and email address, so we can reply and arrange a visit.
  • Your address, town or postcode, so we can work out whether the job is in our patch and price the travel honestly.
  • What you tell us about the job, including any photos or videos you choose to send.
  • The messages between us, so there is a record of what was agreed.

We do not ask for and do not want financial details, identity documents or anything else through this website.

Why we are allowed to hold it.

Two lawful bases under UK GDPR cover almost everything we do:

  • Steps taken at your request before entering a contract. You asked for a price or a visit, so we use your details to give you one.
  • Legitimate interests. Running a trade business means keeping a record of quotes given, work carried out and who asked for what. We keep that record because a dispute two years from now is settled by it.

Where a job goes ahead, we also have a legal obligation to keep certain records: electrical certificates and notifications under the NICEIC scheme and Part P, and financial records for HMRC.

How long we keep it.

  • Enquiries that never became jobs: kept while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us, then deleted.
  • Completed work: contact and job records are kept for at least six years, because that is how long a claim can be brought and how long HMRC expects financial records to be kept.
  • Electrical certificates and test results: kept for the life of the installation record, because the next electrician who works on your property will need them and so may you.

Who else sees it.

We do not sell data and we do not share it for marketing. It is seen by:

  • Our own team, so the person doing the job knows where they are going and what is needed.
  • WhatsApp, if that is how you contacted us. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and your message passes through their service under their own terms and privacy policy, exactly as any other WhatsApp message would.
  • Our email provider, for messages sent by email.
  • Certification bodies, where a job has to be notified. Building control notification through the competent person scheme involves passing the property address and the work carried out.
  • Our accountant and, where relevant, HMRC, for the financial side.
  • A main contractor or managing agent, where you engaged us through one and the paperwork has to go back to them.

The website itself.

This site is hosted by Vercel and its images are served from Bunny.net. Like any web host, they process the technical request your browser makes, which includes your IP address, in order to serve you the page. The site also loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the font is fetched. These providers operate outside the UK in some cases, and transfers are covered by the safeguards in their own terms, such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

What the site stores in your browser, and any analytics, is set out in our cookie policy.

Your rights.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it at all. You can also ask for it in a portable format. Email us and we will deal with it within one month, and there is no charge.

Two honest caveats. Where the law requires us to keep a record, such as an electrical certificate or a financial record, we cannot delete that part. And if you ask us to delete everything while a job is in progress, we will need to talk about what that means for the work.

If you are not happy.

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes.

If we change how the website or our enquiry handling works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we are already dealing with you, we will tell you directly.

Getting in touch about this.

Email callum@crestelectrical.uk or call 07864 271257. We are based in Milton Keynes and will answer directly rather than routing you through a form.

Tell us about the job.

Send it through in under a minute, call, or WhatsApp us a photo of the job. You deal with the people doing the work, not a call centre.
